Fox ESS installer in West Sussex
Fox ESS is the hardware in our own installation photographs — a battery and an inverter on a brick wall, another pair in a loft — and West Sussex is where those photographs were taken. This page is the county seen through that line.
In short
A Fox ESS installer in West Sussex from Solar Squirrel means the line fitted where it suits the house — and named as the wrong answer where it does not — sized from your own consumption, sited where the fire-safety specification allows, and notified to the right network operator by the NICEIC-registered electricians who fit and certificate it. No capacity, warranty term or price for the line is printed on this page: the datasheet and terms for the exact configuration come with the quote.
What decides a Fox ESS job in West Sussex
The house, the wall and the operator — these are the regional facts behind the three.
The West Sussex facts behind a Fox ESS quote
- Fox ESS leads the product pages for one reason: both the Fox ESS battery and the Fox ESS inverter in our own installation photograph carry the Fox mark. A second Fox ESS battery and inverter, in a loft, is also one of our own, photographed on the job. Nothing on this page claims a capacity, a warranty term or a price for the line; the datasheet comes with the quote.
- A single Fox ESS hybrid inverter sized for a typical three-bedroom house can sit either side of the 16-amps-per-phase line, so whether the job is a G98 notification or a G99 application is settled at the design stage, not discovered on the day — and in West Sussex the form goes to UK Power Networks on the coast and in Mid Sussex and Horsham, or to SSEN for Chichester, Billingshurst and RH20.
- The two positions in our photographs are the two commonest in the county: a brick wall in a garage or utility on the estates, and a loft where a terrace has neither. A loft is surveyed for weight, access and detection under PAS 63100 before it is discussed, and it is not a default.
- PVGIS models about 1,125 kWh per kWp a year for a south-facing 4.5 kWp array at Washington (PVGIS 5.2, read 15 October 2026). The battery is sized to the evening load from your half-hourly data or bills; an oversized battery never fills and an undersized one is empty by nine.
- Salt-laden air within a mile of the coast at Worthing, Shoreham and Littlehampton: a Fox inverter or battery wants a dry internal wall there rather than a lean-to on the seaward side — and inside is where the photographs show it.
- Mid Sussex District Council points eligible households to the Warmer Homes scheme; a better-insulated house needs less of everything, including battery capacity, so the size follows the house you will have.
The two walls in the photographs
The brick wall is the estate and semi case across Mid Sussex, Horsham and the coast’s post-war streets: inverter and battery side by side, a short run to the board, the clearances marked out so they survive the garage filling up. The loft is the terrace case — Worthing’s Victorian streets, the railway town at Haywards Heath — where there is no garage and no cellar; the survey checks the joists, the hatch and the detection before it is offered, and often an outbuilding or a rear addition is the better answer. Battery storage in Worthing and Haywards Heath are the town pages for those houses.
What to ask, and the paperwork
The questions worth putting to any installer about a Fox ESS system are in what to ask about a Fox ESS: which inverter, what it is rated at per phase, and therefore which form the operator receives. In West Sussex that is two operators, read from your MPAN, and the application for anything above 16 amps per phase goes in before the system is energised. The Fox ESS installer hub is the line; Sigenergy in West Sussex and Hanchu in West Sussex are the alternatives; where we fit Fox ESS is the longer read.
Two things people in West Sussex ask about Fox ESS
“Is the loft a good place for a Fox battery?”
Sometimes, and we have one in a loft in our own photographs — but it is surveyed for weight, access and the detection the specification asks for, and it is not where we start. A garage, utility, cellar or outbuilding wall comes first.
“Will a three-bed house need a G99 application?”
It can go either way with a single Fox hybrid inverter, which is why the rating is settled at the design stage. Under 16 amps per phase it is a notification after the fact; over it, an application before energising, which we plan around.
What you are not committing to
- A survey that reads your consumption and the wall before any line or size is named.
- The current datasheet and warranty terms for the exact configuration, with the quote, and the conditions explained before you sign.
- If another line fits your house better, you are told which and why.
- The same electricians fit it, notify it and sign the certificate: MCS certified · NICEIC Approved Contractor.
Questions we get asked about Fox ESS in West Sussex
Do you install Fox ESS across West Sussex?
Yes — it is the line in our own installation photographs, fitted from Washington across the coast, Mid Sussex, Horsham District and the Downs. The battery goes on a garage, utility, cellar or outbuilding wall, or a surveyed loft.
Which operator is told about a Fox ESS system in West Sussex?
UK Power Networks on the coast and in Mid Sussex and Horsham town; Scottish and Southern for Chichester, Billingshurst and RH20. We read it from your MPAN and send the G98 notification or G99 application ourselves.
